China's Chery mulls localizing car production in Russia

MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) -- China's Chery is considering the possibility of localizing car production in Russia, General Manager of Chery International Zhang Guibing said on Friday.

“We have never stopped thinking about the localization project, it is closely connected with Chery's strategic development in Russia. Chery International continues to explore opportunities and proposals from production sites in order to choose the best solution for this project,” he said.

Chery International is considering different ways of cooperation: Chery's own factory or a factory on a partnership basis, he also said.
